About Us

Trailblazers is a two-day-a-week drop-off program for homeschoolers in Flagstaff, Arizona. We blend the creativity of play-based learning with the depth of project-based work, bringing kids together to learn, explore, and connect. From hands-on projects to outdoor play, hikes, and community events, Trailblazers is where education meets friendship and adventure!

The Power of Project & Play-Based Learning

Whether designing science experiments, performing original stories, or building creative projects, our students learn by doing. We combine the creativity and curiosity of play-based learning with the depth and purpose of project-based work. This blend encourages deep thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills while making learning both joyful and memorable.

Our Academic Approach

Students thrive when learning is meaningful, social, and hands-on. We explore science through STEM challenges rooted in real-world questions. Literature is studied through rich group discussion that builds empathy and critical thinking. Students also express themselves through creative writing and art, which foster imagination, voice, and personal growth. These experiences are strengthened in a community of peers where support and curiosity guide the learning journey.

A Community That Grows Together

Community is at the heart of Trailblazers! From collaborative projects to field trips and family events, we create a welcoming environment where students and families build lasting friendships.

Our days are designed with connection in mind. Lunch is followed by open-ended free play outside where kids can explore, create, and connect across age groups. Beyond our class days, families join us for hikes, tween/teen nights, movie nights, library meet-ups, and more.

Together, we nurture a love of learning, a sense of belonging, and memories that last long after the school day ends.
