FAQs

  • Trailblazers provides homeschool families with a hands-on, project-based learning experience rooted in community and connection. Our goal is to spark curiosity, build confidence, and help students grow into creative problem solvers who care deeply about the world around them.

  • Trailblazers meets in a dedicated classroom space in Downtown Flagstaff at 121 E Birch Avenue, surrounded by local businesses, parks, and historic landmarks that often become part of our learning adventures.

The space is used exclusively by our program, creating a consistent and welcoming environment for our students.

  • Our program meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Families may choose one or both days, depending on their interests and schedule.

  • Trailblazers welcomes homeschool students in Kindergarten through 9th grade, grouped into three learning communities:

    • Scouts (K–2): Early elementary learners build curiosity and foundational skills through exploration and play-based discovery.

    • Explorers (3rd–5th): Upper elementary students dive into hands-on projects, literature, and collaborative challenges that spark creativity and independence.

    • Voyagers (6th–9th): Secondary learners take on deeper, project-based investigations and leadership opportunities that encourage critical thinking and real-world connection.

  • Our curriculum integrates science, literature, creative writing, and art, with a strong focus on STEM, environmental education, imagination, and local culture. Learning is project-based and designed to build academic skills alongside creativity, collaboration, and confidence.

  • Outdoor learning is woven into everything we do. Students take part in nature-based projects, field trips, and hands-on exploration throughout Flagstaff where they study ecosystems, geology, and local culture in the places where they live and learn.

Trailblazers partners with Montessori Forest Adventurers, offering our youngest students (K–2) Forest Fridays at no additional cost. We also plan field trips and outdoor adventures for all age groups that extend learning beyond the classroom and build a lasting connection to our community and environment.

  • Tuition is $1300 for two-day enrollment or $650 for one-day enrollment per 9-week session.
